Description
The Cosmic Elite from Mavic give aerodynamic performance for road riding and triathlon at an affordable price. The cosmic elite features a 30 mm deep aerodynamic profile that reduces drag made form S6000 aluminium. The rim is joined using Mavic’s Soude Usine process where the rim is arc welded before being milled for a smooth finish. This eliminates shudder under braking and increase friction plus gives a superior wheel balance. The Cosmic elite is laced with steel straight pull bladed spoke, with a radial lacing pattern on the front wheel and non-drive side or the rear with a 2 crossed pattern on the rear to increase power transfer from the wheel. The hub bodies are aluminium with a steel axle. The rear hub is Shimano or SRAM that can be converted to Campangolo with an optional driver body available separately. The rear hub benefits Mavic’s force transfer system light where the contact point between the pawl and hub body is reinforced by 2 stainless steel inserts. The bearings are high quality sealed cartridge bearings. These give high efficiency and durable due to low play and tight tolerances. The Cosmic Elite is paired with Yskion Comp tyres for lower rolling resistance. The wheelset weighs 1770 grams excluding tyres. Available in black and compatible with Shimano. Supplied with quick releases and rim tape.
